Bureau of Labor Statistics projects dramatic loss of postal jobs

Below is a quote from a recent Forbes magazine written by written by Naill McCarthy, “Which U.S. Jobs Are Disappearing fastest.”

“Automation and advanced technology are making a whole host of jobs obsolete. Take email and social media’s impact on the postal service as a key example. By 2024, the Bureau of Labor Statistics is projecting that there will be 136,000 fewer postal jobs than in 2014, a 28 percent decline.”

Below is a Statista graphic which states “Postal-Service mail sorters, processors, and processing-machine operators” jobs are destined to decline by 33.7% in the next seven years.  It also states there will be 26.2% less “postal-service clerks” in the same period.  Some desktop and laptop web browsers will see the blurred image of the chart.  Simply click on the image and it will take you to the image on the host’s website.  This does not seem to be a problem with mobile devices.
