SUV Versus Tractor Crash Sends One to Hospital
February 4, 2018
Delaware County – A Muncie woman was sent to IU Health’s Ball Memorial Hospital this afternoon after the SUV she was driving collided with the back of a tractor on SR3 north bound just south of CR 700 South. Troopers responded to a report of an SUV into a tractor on SR3 northbound just before 2 p.m. this afternoon.
The preliminary investigation by ISP Lt. Tom Dujmovich showed that the 2008 Ford SUV, driven by Vivian Craig, age 35 of Muncie, was north bound on SR3 when she struck the rear of a slow moving Caterpillar tractor that was also north bound on SR3, traveling in the driving lane and partially on the berm. The driver of the tractor, Mark Wright, age 64 of Muncie, was uninjured.
Craig, who was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the collision, was transported from the scene with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Lt. Dujmovich was assisted at the scene by Trooper Eric Perkins and Trooper Seth Painter.
Statistics show that seatbelt usage in conjunction with airbags saves lives. When you are about to leave, make sure everyone in your vehicle is buckled up.
